Manaslu trekking is the popular trekking route, providing with pristine mountain views, rich culture and genuine adventure sum up the trek experience around the 8156m. This trekking route gets more and more famous as a new trekking destination but it still sees fewer trekkers compared to established trekking routes in Manaslu region. Opened in 1992, this area offers a combination of rich cultural heritage, unsurpassed beauty and biological diversity. The circuit is a stunning trek with spectacular views of mount Manaslu and the Ganesh Himal range, among others. This mount is the 8th highest mountain in the world and is located near to the border of Nepal and Tibet. It is indeed very popular trekking route. Along the trail you encounter an interesting mix of Hindu and Tibetan-style Buddhist villages.  The name Manaslu means ‘the spirit- Mountain’ in the local dialect, referring to the benevolent and strong deity, which dwells within.
The crossing of the larkya pass can be tough when there is snow. Trekking in this place is one of the   most delightful adventures.  The stunning landscape with the might Himalayas towering straight above you and the spectacular glaciers make it more than worth the effort. This treks is easy accessible from Kathmandu. It originally started in the town of Arughat or Gorkha; however the roads being built many trekkers start at either Barpak or Soti Khola a bit further up the trail. If you want to trek in any region in Nepal then first of all you need permit or TIMS which is very much important for your trekking or journey.  Government policies of Nepal require permit for the trekking area if the trekking area is an opened or connected with another country. You have no choice but to go through a registered trekking company to get permit, once you get permit card from the government department then you are on the tax radar, and will be taxed accordingly. Mount Manaslu, the 8th highest mountain in the world, also shares the border of Tibet. If you are planning for Manaslu circuit trekking, then you should be prepared for Manaslu trekking a special trekking permit.  Either you will pay a surcharge if they will indeed give permits without a guide, or better, you take a guide or guide/porter with you. Most freelance guides are associated with some kind of trekking company to be able to get the permits.

  • From Dec. to Aug: $50 per week and after 7 days per person $7
  • Manaslu conservation area project permit is US$20 and NPR2000
